We listen first
A 60 to 90 minute first session with the time to be properly heard: history, medications, sleep, digestion, energy, mood, and cycle. Pulse and tongue diagnosis follow, and you leave with a TCM working diagnosis you understand.
Specialist post-surgical recovery in Marylebone: manual lymphatic drainage, acupuncture, and nutritional support after aesthetic and gynaecological surgery. A four-pillar protocol to help settle swelling, keep the early weeks comfortable, and support your body's healing, with your surgeon's plan leading throughout.
Overview
Post-surgical swelling, bruising, and fibrosis are the predictable response of soft tissue to the controlled trauma of surgery. Manual lymphatic drainage applied within the first 7 to 14 days, once your surgeon has cleared it, is associated with shorter swelling resolution, reduced fibrosis, and improved skin retraction. That includes recovery from liposuction, abdominoplasty, breast reduction, gynaecomastia surgery, and laparoscopic gynaecology.
Body Perfected combines three strands, timed to your surgeon's plan:
We work alongside your surgeon throughout. Care is delivered through our post-op recovery package and standalone manual lymphatic drainage, and the same approach supports lipoedema surgery recovery.

Claudia provides the best lymphatic drainage massage in London. She can scan your body like no one else. I almost fell asleep during my 90-minute session — the time flew by. Thank you Claudia!
Claudia is a true healer! I arrived very tense after a long flight and she was able to help calm and reset my nervous system. I highly recommend the 1-hour lymphatic massage.
I had a great lymphatic drainage session with Claudia. After having sinus surgery to remove polyps and dealing with congestion, I felt so much better after the session. Highly recommend!
Claudia is wonderful. Her treatments are incredibly relaxing. She is attentive and asks questions ahead of time to be more targeted during the sessions. Her treatment rooms promote a sense of calm. I would highly recommend her!
Manual lymphatic drainage applied in the first 7 to 14 days after surgery, once your surgeon has cleared it, is associated with shorter swelling resolution and improved skin retraction. Most protocols run 6 to 10 sessions over 4 to 6 weeks, front-loaded to the early window.
The firm, lumpy, rope-like tissue that can follow liposuction and abdominoplasty is early fibrosis, and the early weeks are when it responds best. Regular MLD through that window is associated with reduced fibrosis and a smoother final result.
Acupuncture supports pain regulation, post-operative nausea, and sleep in the first 1 to 3 weeks, when analgesia is being weaned and rest matters most. It is a useful companion to the medication plan your surgical team has set, never a replacement for it.
Tissue repair runs on protein, vitamin C, zinc, and vitamin D, and anaesthesia disrupts the gut that absorbs them. Nutritional support targets collagen synthesis and inflammatory load, so the raw materials of healing are there when your body asks for them.
Recovery care exists to support the outcome you and your surgeon planned. Delivered by a practitioner trained in surgical recovery, MLD and integrative care are associated with better aesthetic outcomes. Their plan leads, ours supports, and every session works toward the result you both agreed.
Everything is timed to the surgeon-cleared start window: most surgeons clear MLD from 24 to 72 hours after the procedure depending on the operation, and we never start without that clearance. Sessions then follow your recovery plan, typically 6 to 12 across the first 8 weeks.
Why it happens
Surgical disruption of skin, fascia, and lymphatic vessels: the body responds with inflammatory swelling
General anaesthesia and post-op analgesia: slows gut motility and disrupts micronutrient status
Reduced mobility in the immediate post-op period: slows lymphatic return
Compression garments worn incorrectly or inconsistently: impairs venous and lymphatic drainage
Pre-existing tendency to fibrosis or hypertrophic scarring
Suboptimal nutritional status before surgery: protein, vitamin C, zinc, vitamin D underpin tissue repair
Your history, your cycle, your energy, and what matters to you. The first session runs 60 to 90 minutes depending on the service: medical history, current medications, sleep, digestion, energy, mood, and your menstrual cycle where relevant. Pulse and tongue diagnosis follow, and from this we arrive at a TCM working diagnosis you understand.
You leave with a written summary of what was done, why, and the plan for your next session.
Integrative care that treats the cause of your symptoms. Rooted in 2,000 years of Chinese medicine, delivered for modern life, from Marylebone since 2010.
Book by WhatsApp or phone on +44 7455 005 334. We agree a clear plan at your first session and reassess it at every visit, so you always know what your care involves and why.
Every plan starts with being properly heard. We find what is driving your picture, treat it with the right combination of pillars, and evolve the plan with you as your body responds.

Acupuncture, moxibustion, cupping, tuina, manual lymphatic drainage, herbal formula: chosen for your TCM diagnosis, not by default. Sessions run 60 to 75 minutes, and you leave each one with a written summary of what was done and why.
Pulse, tongue, and current symptoms are reassessed at every visit, and the toolkit and herbal formula adjust as the picture shifts. Plans are agreed in 6-week or 12-week blocks, so you always know where you are in the arc.
As things settle, treatment moves to a maintenance frequency: keeping your cycle, energy, and recovery steady. Where you have a GP, fertility clinic, or surgeon involved, we coordinate with them throughout.

Most surgeons clear MLD from 24 to 72 hours after the procedure, depending on the operation. We do not start without explicit surgeon clearance: the timing matters. Clients usually arrive with a recovery plan from their surgeon; we coordinate the MLD frequency and pressure within those parameters.
Most aesthetic-surgery recovery protocols use 6 to 10 MLD sessions over 4 to 6 weeks: frequency front-loaded to the early window. Larger procedures (full-body liposuction, abdominoplasty, large breast reductions) may need 10 to 15 sessions. We agree the plan with you and your surgeon at intake.
Because swelling is only one part of recovery. Acupuncture supports pain, post-operative nausea, and sleep through the early weeks, when rest matters most and unaddressed stress can slow healing. Nutritional support works on collagen synthesis, anti-inflammatory load, and the gut effects of anaesthesia. Each pillar carries a different part of recovery; together they carry the whole of it.
No, when delivered by a practitioner trained in surgical recovery, MLD and integrative care are associated with better aesthetic outcomes, not worse. We always work in coordination with the surgical clinic: their plan leads, ours supports.
